Chemist and pharmacist Dr. August Wolff had a revolutionary idea. He wanted his products to be more than hair styling aids and to make an important contribution to keeping both scalp and hair healthy. With this objective, Dr. August Wolff performed his research and developed many successful hair care therapeutics.

Even back then, the company closely collaborated with leading scientists, and this cooperation laid the foundation for the intensive exchange between science, medicine and product application.

Dr. Kurt Wolff continued his father's commitment to ensure that products from the Wolff company would always be in step with the latest scientific findings. In memory of his achievements, our company operates its own laboratories today under the name of Dr. Wolff-Research and collaborates with the dermatology departments of the university clinics in Jena and Hamburg-Eppendorf as well as the Charité in Berlin.

In 2004, Dr. Kurt Wolff GmbH & Co KG acquired the trademark rights for the Plantur brand.

Since then, Dr. Wolff-Research has developed novel formulas to counteract hormone-induced hair loss in women.

During menopause, a woman's hormone levels become imbalanced, thereby interfering with hair growth. Together with renowned scientists and using cutting-edge technologies, our researchers have worked to find a solution for this problem. The result was the development of a phyto-caffeine complex that protects the hair roots from the negative impact of the male hormone (testosterone) when the share of female hormones (estrogens) decreases. Therefore, this active ingredient complex is an important component of all Plantur 39 products.
