Phytoflavones – pure botanical power for health and beauty

Phytoflavones – "secondary" yet important
Phytoflavones are so-called secondary botanical active ingredients. In contrast with primary botanical active ingredients, they are not directly involved in a plant's growth and have therefore lived in the shadows for a long time. However, their functions are not insignificant: They protect the plant e.g. from being eaten or protect it from UV radiation.
"Green hormones" the botanical power
Phytoflavones represent a large group among the secondary botanical active ingredients. They are also referred to as phytoestrogens (phyto = plant). There are many indications that e.g. phytoflavones contained in soy contribute to lowering a person's risk of breast or prostate cancer. But phytoflavones can do a lot more, e.g. alleviate women’s problems after 40, favorably impact osteoporosis, protect the skin from free radicals, help make hair strong and healthy, etc.
A massive dose of energy for hair and scalp
Before menopause, women's hair roots are protected by their high share of female hormones. During menopause, the share of male hormones (androgens) increases, a development that leads to unpleasant side effects: The hair grows thinner, falls out prematurely and the scalp becomes visible. Certain phytoflavones (e.g. in soy, white tea, black cohosh) counteract these androgens, thereby improving the scalp's and the hair's resistance, contributing to regeneration and protecting the hair roots from the negative impacts of male hormones.
